What's the Difference Between a Mobile and Virtual Office?
A mobile office is a flexible work setup that allows a person or business to work from multiple locations rather than a single, fixed office. Many small and home-based businesses choose virtual offices for their affordability, credibility, and convenience.
How Can I Conduct Business Virtually?
A virtual office creates all the location and service needs for companies to conduct business virtually. First, a local business address with mail receiving and forwarding services helps meet all marketing and correspondence requirements. Second, a local phone number with a staff of receptionists to answer all your calls. Lastly, use of an on-site conference room, fax, and copy machine (location dependent).
What's the Difference Between a P.O. Box and a Virtual Mailbox?
A P.O. box is a locked mailbox inside a post office where you collect mail and small packages from the U.S. Postal Service. A virtual mailbox is a modern service that provides a real street address for receiving mail from multiple carriers. Staff can scan, forward, or securely shred your mail based on your instructions.

PHONE ANSWERING FAQ
What Is Virtual Office Live Answering?
The term “Live Answering” means that when someone calls your assigned phone number, a real human being answers the phone with a custom greeting appropriate to your business. Live Answering gives your clients, customers, and potential partners a more personal, polished experience. It also helps your business look professional and well-established.
What Is an Additional Voicemail Box?
Every Phone Answering package includes one voicemail box and seven dialing extensions. If you need more, you can add up to five additional voicemail boxes for an extra fee. Each added voicemail box includes six dialing extensions. This makes it easy to customize your setup and ensure calls are routed exactly where you need them.
If I Want Live Answering, What Are My Options?
BSSI offers two live answering package options and many add-on services.
What Is Voicemail to Email?
At BSSI Virtual Offices, Voicemail to Email sends your voicemail messages straight to your inbox as audio (.wav) files. When someone leaves a message, you’ll get an email with the recording attached. The system then clears the message from your voicemail box, so it stays empty. You can listen on your cell phone or computer. Most devices already support this feature. If you need help, please contact your IT team.
How Is Live Answering Available to Multiple Businesses at the Same Time?
First, we make sure your live answering service is set up for success. Our friendly receptionists answer every call with your custom greeting and carefully follow your account instructions to help each caller. We never take on more accounts than our team can manage. When needed, we hire more receptionists to ensure you always receive reliable, high-quality service.
What is Direct Call to Cell (DCC)?
With Direct Call to Cell, you give us a number where you’d like all incoming calls forwarded. To keep your private number protected, we assign a separate phone number that connects to your personal number. Most clients choose to have calls sent to their cell phone, making it easy to answer business calls wherever they are.
What If I Go Over the Number of Calls I Purchased on My Account?
If you go over the number of calls included in your plan, each extra call costs $1. Unused calls don’t roll over to the next month. If you need more calls, you have two easy options: you can buy an extra block of calls at a discounted price during the month, or upgrade your monthly plan. Both options help you save with lower rates right away.
How Does an Auto-Attendant Answer Calls?
First, our team sets up your custom business greeting in the auto-attendant system. If you’d rather record your own greeting, that’s perfectly fine! When callers dial in, they’ll hear simple menu options to choose from. Their call will then go to voicemail or be forwarded to another number. Extra fees apply only to special voicemail boxes or international long-distance calls. You can upgrade to Live Answering at any time.
If I Have Live Answering, What Happens to My Calls When the Office Is Closed?
When BSSI Virtual Offices is closed, you can have calls forwarded straight to you using Direct Call to Cell (DCC). With this option, you never miss an after-hours call. You can also choose an auto-attendant to greet callers and give simple menu options. Calls can go to voicemail, and the message will be emailed to you. Our Live Answering team is available weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM, local time, excluding holidays.
What Is Text Message Notification to Cell Phone?

It’s a quick and easy way to stay in the loop. This feature is available only with our Live Answering service packages.
Can I Keep My Assigned Phone Number If I End Service?
The BSSI phone number assigned to your account is owned by our telecommunications service provider. You’re welcome to use this number under the terms of our Service Agreement as long as your account remains active and in good standing. However, please note that these numbers are reserved exclusively for our clients and cannot be shared or transferred to others.
Can I Upgrade or Downgrade My Phone Answering Plan?
Yes! You can add or remove Live Answering at any time, depending on your business needs. If things get busier, you can also increase the number of calls in your plan, even in the middle of the month. We make it easy to adjust your plan, so it always fits your schedule and keeps your business running smoothly.
Can I Keep Using My Existing Business Phone Number?
Yes, absolutely! If you already have a business phone number, you can keep using it. There’s no need to change the number your customers already know. BSSI will help with the process of porting your existing number into our system, making the transition smooth and easy from start to finish.
How Do You Handle Solicitors on the Phone? Do Solicitation Calls Count Toward My Number of Calls?
Our receptionists do their best to screen out solicitors, and we can block specific numbers if someone keeps calling. If a certain solicitor repeatedly contacts you, we’re happy to block their number. While we can’t stop every unwanted call, screening them is part of our Live Answering service. As a result, solicitation calls are included in your monthly call total.
How Will Receptionists Greet My Callers?
You get to choose the personalized greeting our receptionists use when answering your calls. It can be short and simple or longer and more detailed, whatever fits your style. If you’re using an auto-attendant with dialing options, callers can hear a recorded name or custom greeting. A BSSI receptionist can record this greeting for you. We’ll make sure it sounds just right for your business.

What Additional Charges Should I Be Aware of?
Extra charges may apply for certain services, such as handling or reviewing mail, exceeding your agreed block of phone calls, or making international long-distance calls. Yes! When your account is set up, BSSI assigns you a unique number. It’s a simple three-digit number that comes after our office suite number, separated by a hyphen. With scan service, you receive a clear, high-resolution scan of your mail as soon as it arrives, so you can view it right away.
Can I Verify This Address With Google/Google My Business?
Many of our clients have successfully used their virtual office address to register on Google My Business. However, BSSI can’t guarantee acceptance, because Google makes the final decision. If you run into any issues, it’s best to check Google’s support page. And if other virtual office providers promise guaranteed approval, be cautious! This isn’t something anyone can guarantee.
